Small Propane Bottle Storage

To store those small green propane bottles that you use for your grill, buy a 4″ PVC pipe, add a grating cap on the bottom, and a removable cap on top. You can get everything you need at the local hardware store. The bottom piece is a standard drain accessory for the 4″ PVC. The top piece is a 4″ Snap End Cap that fits snuggly on the top.
When I first did this, I took one of my green bottles to Home Depot and made sure it would fit in the PVC pipe. I bought a section of pipe that fits about three of the bottles. I keep the 4th bottle that I’m currently using back in the cockpit center console.
I store this pipe section in my anchor locker. Other people have used long hose clamps to secure it to their stern rail on one of the vertical stations.
