Remote starter for your engine

This is a handy little devise used to start your diesel engine from down in the engine compartment.  It can be used to bypass the solenoid on the starter, the starter button up in the cockpit and the ignition key.  I’ve had each of these fail on different boats at different times.

To use the starter button simply clip the red wire to the red power cable at the starter.  The black cable gets connected to the wire terminal on the starter. ( This smaller wire terminal is usually very near the power cable.) Once the wires are connected, push the button to engage the starter motor and the engine will start.  This button can also be used to crank the engine if you are bleeding air out of the lines.

This can be purchased for about $6 at most automotive stores, Amazon or Ebay.
